New Mexico Energy Grant: Concept Paper Submission<\/h2>\n

Powering Progress Across New Mexico<\/strong> <\/span><\/p>\n

The Energy, Mineral and Natural Resources Department (EMNRD), through its Energy Conservation and Management Division (ECAM), invites concept papers for innovative projects that advance energy efficiency, renewable energy, energy storage (including batteries), and interconnection infrastructure. With $20 million in competitive grant funding available, this is your opportunity to spark lasting impact across diverse communities and geographies statewide.<\/span><\/p>\n

Grants will be awarded on a rolling basis starting September 1, 2025, with all funds to be used by June 30, 2028. Priority will be given to projects that demonstrate long-term value, align with state policy, meet Community Benefits Fund criteria, and make efficient use of public dollars. ECAM also offers support for \u201cstacking and braiding\u201d with other funding sources, including loans, tax credits, and green finance tools.<\/span><\/p>\n

Alternative Transportation Program Announcements<\/h2>\n

Transportation Working Group<\/h3>\n

Through the Transportation Working Group, ECAM engages the community in periodic meetings to address the unique needs of New Mexico mobility while working to promote alternative fuels and alternative modes of transportation that reduce transportation emissions. 2022 Albuquerque Zero Fares Pilot Program<\/h3>\n

During 2022, City of Albuquerque passengers will not have to pay for the following public transit: Sun Van, ART and ABQ RIDE. For more information about the Zero Fares Pilot Program please visit https:\/\/www.cabq.gov\/transit\/tickets-passes.<\/a><\/p>\n

Outreach and Education<\/h2>\n

Through education and outreach events, ECAM promotes and provides information on energy conservation, carpooling, public transit, multi and intermodal transportation solutions, energy related state tax credits, alternative fuels, energy assessments, renewable energy, energy storage, energy efficiency and energy conservation. Staff provide presentations and outreach at various statewide events including the New Mexico State Fair (Expo New Mexico), STEM events, Earth Day, Bike-to-Work Day, and other education-based events.<\/p>\n

ECAM is developing curriculum with the goal of enabling the next generation of New Mexicans to recognize and mitigate energy inefficiencies, to understand and adjust their energy consumption behaviors, and to understand the role of renewables in our energy supply. The curriculum aligns with existing state standards and is adaptable to in-school and extended learning situations. This curriculum may also be a way to build momentum across the state for school building energy efficiency upgrades and energy performance contracting tools.<\/p>\n
