The project area (see Figures 1 and 2) is in the Pinos Altos Mining District on 53 acres of private land in Sections 35 and 36, Township 16 South, Range 14 West, and Sections 1 and 2, Township 17 South and Range 14 West (USGS 7.5\u2019 Fort Bayard and Silver City Quadrangle).<\/p>\n<p>This project involved the following work:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Backfilling three mine shafts using mine waste and other nearby material<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Backfilling 11 mine adits using mine waste and other nearby material<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Collapsing three rock arches\/adits<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Partially backfilling a stope complex to within 7\u2019 of the top of the stope<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Construction of a bat gate, with a hinged door inside an adit<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Construction of a concrete wall with a metal grating over five shafts<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Construction of \u00a0a metal grating inside of one shaft<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>\u00a0Construction of a CMP\/PUF Plug at two shafts<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Construction of a PUF plug with rock cover at three shafts<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Construction of a PUF plug with a grouted rock face at one adit<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Seeing of all areas disturbed by construction.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p
