There are no fees for records provided electronically through the GovQA request portal. [&hellip;]<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":1,"featured_media":0,"parent":0,"menu_order":0,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"closed","template":"","meta":{"_et_pb_use_builder":"on","_et_pb_old_content":"INSPECTION OF PUBLIC RECORDS REQUESTS\r\nUnder the Inspection of Public Records Act, NMSA 1978, \u00a7 14-2-1, every person has the right to\r\ninspect public records of public bodies, including the New Mexico Energy, Minerals and Natural\r\nResources Department (\u201cEMNRD\u201d). The Act also makes compliance with requests to inspect an\r\nintegral duty of the officers and employees of EMNRD.\r\nProcedures for Requesting Inspection\r\nYou can submit requests to inspect public records to the records custodian either orally or in\r\nwriting. A written request must contain the following items for the person making the request:\r\n\u2022 Name\r\n\u2022 Address\r\n\u2022 Telephone number, and\r\n\u2022 Description of the records sought in enough detail to enable the records custodian to\r\nidentify and locate the requested records.\r\nE-mail requests are written requests under the Inspection of Public Records Act and may be\r\ndirected to EMNRD\u2019s general IPRA Contact, Susan Sita at susan.sita@emnrd.nm.gov or 1220 S. St.\r\nFrancis Dr., Santa Fe, NM 87505. You may also direct your request to one of the IPRA\r\nContacts for a specific division. You can also send a request by mail to the division IPRA\r\nContacts at 1220 S. If inspection is not permitted within 3 business days, the\r\nperson making the request will receive a written response explaining when the records will be\r\navailable for inspection or when the public body will respond to the request.\r\nIf a written request has been denied, the custodian shall provide the requester with a written\r\nexplanation of the reasons that inspection has been denied. The written denial will be delivered \r\nor mailed to the person requesting the records within 15 days after the request for inspection was\r\nreceived.\r\nProcedures for Requesting Copies and Copy Fees\r\nIf you would like a copy of a public record, the records custodian may charge a reasonable fee.\r\nThe fees for documents are as follows:\r\n\u2022 $0.25 per page for 8.5 x 11 inch copies\r\n\u2022 $2.00 or more per map (depending on size and complexity)\r\n\u2022 $0.50 per page for 8.5 x 14 inch copies\r\n\u2022 $1.00 per page for 11 x 17 inch copies\r\nThe fees for electronic records include the actual cost to download copies of the records to a disk\r\nor storage device and the actual cost of the disk or storage device. The cost for a disk is $7.50.\r\nThe records custodian may request that applicable fees for copying public records be paid before\r\ncopies are made.
