Forest and Watershed Restoration Act (FAWRA)<\/strong><\/h2>\n

The Forestry Division selects high-priority forest and watershed restoration projects each year to receive funding made available through the Forest and Watershed Restoration Act (FAWRA)<\/a>. The project proposals are reviewed by the Forest and Watershed Advisory Board who recommend projects based on their public benefits including water source protection, wildfire risk reduction and fish and wildlife habitat conservation.<\/p>\n

The Forest and Watershed Advisory Board is made up of representatives from seven state agencies, including the Forestry Division, plus three public members appointed by the Governor. Representatives from cooperating agencies, including the United States Forest Service (USFS), Bureau of Land Management (BLM), Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS), National Parks Service (NPS), and Bureau of Indian Affairs (BIA) participate as non-voting members. The public is invited to attend meetings of the FAWRA Board, which will be posted to the\u00a0Public Meetings Page<\/a> on this website.<\/span><\/p>\n
