The Cimarron District Office is located on Highway 64, just east of Ute Park.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Cimarron District is committed to the protection of life and property in the wildland urban interface. In addition to suppression activities, our primary focus is to maintain healthy, resilient forests that are not at risk of extreme fire behavior through the forest treatments and fire activity. \u00a0We support the ten strategies found in the 2020 New Mexico Forest Action Plan. She has a B.S. in Forest Management from Oklahoma State University and an M.S. in Biology (Fire Ecology) from the University of New Mexico. She has worked in forestry for diverse employers and as a private consultant for over 40 years. As District Forester, Mary provides oversight for all district programs, serves as line officer, and ensures district operations meet division objectives. In this capacity, Mary fosters relationships with partner agencies and supports the timber and biomass industry in the district.
