The following objectives have been established:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>To inform and educate the public of existing state statutes and Division regulations.<\/li>\n<li>Develop and participate in statewide prevention programs.<\/li>\n<li>Maintain an awareness of conditions and situations that may lead to violations of Division regulations and state statutes.<\/li>\n<li>Build a public trust by showing a greater presence and availability to the private landowner by conducting regular patrols and answering public complaints in a timely manner.<\/li>\n<li>Build cooperation with other state and local law enforcement agencies with regard to Division regulations and state statutes.<\/li>\n<li>Apply firm and consistent law enforcement by conducting thorough investigations.<\/li>\n<li>Comply with the judicial procedures.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4>Authority<\/h4>\n<p>[\/et_pb_text][et_pb_text _builder_version=&#8221;4.9.4&#8243; _module_preset=&#8221;default&#8221; custom_margin=&#8221;||0em||false|false&#8221;]<\/p>\n<p>NMSA 1978, Sections <a href=\"\/sfd\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/4\/68-2-4.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">68-2-4<\/a> and <a href=\"\/sfd\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/4\/68-2-14.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">68-2-14<\/a> provide the Forestry Division&#8217;s law enforcement authority.
