The Forest and Watershed Health Coordinator serves on core teams that lead implementation of the New Mexico Forest Action Plan and the Agreement for Shared Stewardship in New Mexico and manages the Division’s Contributions Agreement with the USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service. The Natural and Working Lands (NWL) Coordinator manages the NWL Program, which is housed in the Forestry Division but is a joint program of the Forestry Division and the NM Department of Agriculture focused on natural climate solutions involving croplands, forests, rangelands, and conserved lands.

FWHO serves as a statewide hub to interface with and connect the Division’s diverse stakeholders and partners. FWHO hosts the State Forest and Watershed Health Coordinating Group, a multi-entity body comprised of representatives of federal, state, tribal, and local governments, non-governmental organizations, forest and watershed collaborative groups, private industry, and other stakeholder interests.

In addition, the Forest and Watershed Health Office staff participate in statewide and regional working groups, standing committees, grant evaluation panels and technical advisory teams led by other agencies and organizations.
