The lake has 4.6 miles of shoreline. The maximum depth is 80-100 feet at the dam.<\/p>\n<p class=\"TextNormal10pt\"><strong><span class=\"style45\">Directions:<\/span><\/strong><span class=\"style45\">\u00a0<em>About 28 miles west of Grants.<\/em><\/span><br \/>From Albuquerque to the developed north east side Main Park Entrance take I-40 west for\u00a0about 109 miles . Bottom of Ramp 7,367 Ft..<\/p>\n<p align=\"left\" class=\"TextNormal10pt style46\">One (1) concrete ramp at Las Tusas Recreation Area, east of the Dam that has three (3) launching lanes.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Top of ramp 7,410 Ft.. (exotic species of goldfish and suckers being managed by introduction of the tiger muskies. Introduced in 2003 the muskies can grow to 36\u201d with one foot growth per year.)\u00a0 Smallmouth Bass. Check for hours of operation.\u00a0 It is about 16 miles one way to each station.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>[\/et_pb_accordion_item][et_pb_accordion_item title=&#8221;Boating Rentals:&#8221; _builder_version=&#8221;4.16&#8243; _module_preset=&#8221;default&#8221; global_colors_info=&#8221;{}&#8221; open=&#8221;off&#8221;]<\/p>\n<p><span>Outside the park there is a local store that does paddlecraft rentals.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>[\/et_pb_accordion_item][et_pb_accordion_item title=&#8221;Recreation Areas Managed By:&#8221; _builder_version=&#8221;4.16&#8243; _module_preset=&#8221;default&#8221; global_colors_info=&#8221;{}&#8221; open=&#8221;off&#8221;]<\/p>\n<p><span>New Mexico State Parks.\u00a0 Primitive Camping around the lake allowed.<\/span><br \/><span>Fees must be paid.\u00a0<\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/www.emnrd.state.nm.us\/SPD\/BOATINGWeb\/BoatingOvernightFeesLimits.html\" target=\"_top\" class=\"ui-link\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Regulations<\/strong><\/a><span>\u00a0are enforced.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>[\/et_pb_accordion_item][et_pb_accordion_item title=&#8221;Lands and Lake Information:&#8221; _builder_version=&#8221;4.16&#8243; _module_preset=&#8221;default&#8221; global_colors_info=&#8221;{}&#8221; open=&#8221;off&#8221;]<\/p>\n<p>The lake is primarily managed by the downstream Toltec Irrigation District. NM Game and Fish owns the bottom 3,500 ac-ft of the lake. Roads bordering the lake are not paved.
