Acting Deputy Cabinet Secretary – Ben Shelton 

Ben Shelton was appointed Acting Deputy Secretary of the Energy, Minerals and Natural Resources Department in July 2024. He was named Deputy Cabinet Secretary in March 2025. Prior to being appointed Acting Deputy Secretary, he was the agency’s General Counsel.
