Alternative Fuel Programs

ECAM promotes the use of alternative fuel vehicles in the state of New Mexico in an effort to decarbonize transportation and lower vehicle emissions. The Division facilitates communication between state agencies, non-government entities, and stakeholders in an effort to coordinate and collaborate planning and expanding the use of alternative fuels in the state.

Western Regional Electric Vehicle Partnership (REV West)

The Governor of New Mexico signed a Memorandum of understanding (MOU) along with seven other states (Arizona, Colorado, Idaho, Montana, Utah, and Wyoming) to provide a framework for creating Intermountain West Electric Vehicle Corridors that will make it possible to drive an EV across major transportation corridors in the west with adequate opportunities for recharging. ECMD is committed to collaborating with the other states and working to implement activities outlined in the MOU, including creating best practices and procedures to enhance EV adoption, coordinating on EV charging station locations, creating voluntary minimum standards, and leveraging economies of scale. The group is facilitated by the National Association of State Energy Officials.
