Southwest Area Fire Restrictions Interactive Map

To find current restrictions:

Zoom into the area in which you live or would like to recreate and click on that area. The area will be highlighted with a blue border, and a pop-up box will appear in the upper right corner of the screen.

The pop-up box will show the restriction stage or ban, any local information, and will have a link to the actual fire restrictions order, the news release, or agency fire restriction information page if available.

Not all restrictions may appear on this map. Always check with your local fire department or government agency for the latest information.

Additional details can be found on the New Mexico Fire Information website.

NOTE: Click the image or this link to reach the interactive map.

Chrome browsers may not load the map. Choose Microsoft Edge or Firefox if this happens.

The Areas with current fire restrictions will appear with colors [yellow – orange – red – gray]. Areas without color are not in restrictions. All fire restrictions are in effect until further notice.

The Energy, Minerals and Natural Resources Department’s (EMNRD) Forestry Division works with state, federal, and tribal partners under the Southwest Coordinating Group to provide the public with a real-time map showing current fire restrictions on public lands.

Currently only county, state, federal, and tribal lands are displayed when there are restrictions in place in New Mexico.

For municipal fire restrictions, please go to the specific city, town, or village website for more information.
