Forest Re-Leaf Program

Since its inception through the State Legislature in 1990, the New Mexico Forest Re-Leaf Program has awarded more than $500,000 to support tree planting projects in cities, towns, villages, communities, and schools across New Mexico.

The Re-Leaf Program has funded the planting of more than 18,000 trees through 190 projects in communities and schools across the state.

Help Re-Leaf New Mexico by planting trees in your community or at your school!

Annual applications are solicited in April and submittals are due in August.  If successful, your community will enter into a contract with EMNRD – Forestry Division and be ready to plant trees the following spring. Eligible applicants include schools, municipalities, or local non-profit organizations. Trees must be planted on public land.
