Description: Popular 1,100-acre lake with a maximum depth of 50 feet. Shoreline of approximately 5 miles. Views of the Sangre de Cristo Mountains to the west are majestic. Popular with windsurfers and Hobie Cat sailor with regattas and tournaments.
Directions: Close to Las Vegas, New Mexico. From Albuquerque take I-25 North for about 120 miles, Take the NM-65 W exist EXIT 345. At the end of the ramp turn left onto NM-104 W /NM-65 W-E for one-half mile. Turn right onto NM-518 / NM-65 / 7th Street. Take NM-518 four miles north out of Las Vegas New Mexico to the park entrance.

Current Las Vegas Airport Conditions. The lake is out on the plains and recieves a bit of wind
Fish Species:
Rainbow trout and catfish, large and smallmouth bass. Stocked by NM Game and Fish Optimum fishing lake level is about 6,600 Ft.
Special Boating Restrictions:
None. This lake may be the site throughout the season for Hobie Cat Flotilla 48 racing. All vessel operators are reminded that any marine racing event in progress may not be cut thru by any vessel as it is against the law.
Recreation Areas Managed By:
New Mexico State Parks. Primitive camping along the lake is limited.
Park gates are locked at sunset throughout the year for added security.
Land Status:
Most of the lands to the west and north of the park are privately owned. Primitive boat camping must only be done with the property owners permission.
Lake:
Water levels at Storrie Lake are managed by the Storrie Project Water Users Association. The largest shareholder in the local water association is the Las Vegas National Wildlife Refuge. The association is a modern day private corporation governed under its own articles of incorporation, by-laws and a board of directors elected annually by its shareholders, unlike the earlier Hispano acequias. Water is diverted into it’s off-stream reservoir, Storrie Lake, and subsequently delivered to local irrigators who own land within an area south of Storrie Lake identified as the Storrie Project.
